Make AI defer to the record, not its guess
Lesson 5 of 7 · Compliance & safe AI use
1 · Learn the move · Verified-data override
The model's prior is the average of everything it read, and the average brief states a limitations period from memory. The override is a rule, written once: anything that reads as a date, a period, a figure or a holding comes only from a document I gave you, cited by name, or it comes back as a bracket. The record outranks the model, every time, and the prompt says so.
RULE: every date, period, figure and holding in your output traces to a document I pasted, cited by filename, or appears as [CHECK THE RECORD: what to pull]. You never supply one from memory, even when you are confident. Now draft: [the task].
2 · Your turn. You write the prompt
The draft status letter for Client A states a limitations period and a response date. Neither came from you. Write the rule that stops it, and re-run the letter.
Write the prompt for this scenario as given, or swap in a real one from your own work. The score works the same either way.
Remember: the AI sees only your prompt, not this page. If the situation isn't in your prompt, it doesn't exist.
Optional. These shape the output when you run your prompt below, not your score.
