Acceptable Use Policy
Effective July 30, 2026 · Part of the Terms of Service.
Plain-language summary; not a substitute for legal review.
You agree not to use the Service, or any output from it, to do — or help anyone do — the following:
Discrimination and misrepresentation
- Discriminate against, target, or exclude anyone on the basis of a protected class, in any use of the Service.
- Publish AI output as fact without verifying it, or in a way that misrepresents a property, a price, a deadline, or your professional role.
- File, serve or send an authority you have not opened: a case, a statute, a rule, a regulation or a quotation that came from a draft and went to a court, a client or opposing counsel unverified. Fed. R. Civ. P. 11 and its state counterparts put the certification on the signature, and the Service is not the signature.
- Paste information relating to the representation of a client — a name beside a fact, a caption, a docket number, a privileged communication, a Social Security number — into the Service or into any tool it drafts for, without having decided under Rule 1.6 and your bar’s guidance whether the disclosure is permitted and whether the client’s informed consent is required.
- Present a drafted filing as checked, a drafted position as supported, a drafted consent as sufficient, or a redaction as complete, or tell anyone that a paste was permitted or that a filing meets a court’s standing order.
- Use output to give legal advice to anyone as though the Service, rather than a licensed attorney, had given it, or to predict the outcome of any matter.
Unlawful and abusive use
- Violate any law, professional rule, or code of ethics that applies to your work.
- Infringe others’ rights, submit others’ personal data without authorization, or attempt to breach security, scrape, or reverse-engineer the Service.
Human review
Every output is a draft. You are responsible for having a qualified person review and approve content before it is published or relied upon. We may suspend accounts that violate this policy.
