What matter information can go in a prompt (almost nothing)
Lesson 2 of 7 · Compliance & safe AI use
1 · Learn the move · Constraints + negative instructions
Rule 1.6 does not ask whether the tool trains on your paste; it asks whether you disclosed information relating to the representation without authority to. The practical answer is to de-identify before the question exists: parties lettered, caption gone, docket number gone, dates relative, unusual facts generalized. What survives is the legal question, and that is all the model needs.
Before you answer anything: I am about to paste a fact pattern. List every identifier in it (names, caption, docket number, addresses, dates that identify, unusual facts that identify on their own) and return the same text with each replaced by a placeholder and a diff of what moved. Do not answer the legal question yet. [paste]
2 · Your turn. You write the prompt
A client's demand letter arrived as a PDF. You want the model to outline the response. The PDF carries the client's name, the counterparty's name, the matter caption, a settlement figure and a date certain. Decide what, if anything, goes in - and write the prompt that gets the outline without the identifiers.
Write the prompt for this scenario as given, or swap in a real one from your own work. The score works the same either way.
Remember: the AI sees only your prompt, not this page. If the situation isn't in your prompt, it doesn't exist.
Optional. These shape the output when you run your prompt below, not your score.
