Set the control dial: where a human stays in the filing workflow

Lesson 5 of 5 · Workflows & automation

1 · Learn the move · Fact-check list

Every step in a workflow sits somewhere on a dial from fully automated to fully human, and the dial sets itself if you do not. Set it in writing: the mechanical steps at full-auto, the drafting steps at draft-for-review, and everything with a court, a client or a signature at the end at human-only. On a filing workflow, the dial has a hard stop: nothing is filed, served or sent by a tool.

For each step in the workflow below, set the dial: AUTO (runs alone), DRAFT (runs, a person reviews), HUMAN (a person does it, the tool may prepare). Give the one-line reason. Hard stop: any step that files, serves or sends is HUMAN. WORKFLOW: [steps].

2 · Your turn. You write the prompt

Your filing workflow has eleven steps and the automation is starting to touch more of them. Set the dial for every step, in writing, before it sets itself.

Write the prompt for this scenario as given, or swap in a real one from your own work. The score works the same either way.

Remember: the AI sees only your prompt, not this page. If the situation isn't in your prompt, it doesn't exist.

Optional. These shape the output when you run your prompt below, not your score.
