Map a repeatable task into a workflow
Lesson 1 of 5 · Workflows & automation
1 · Learn the move · RTO. Role · Task · Output
Before you automate anything, draw it: every step, who does it, what goes in, what comes out, where the time goes. The map shows you the two mechanical steps worth handing over and the three judgment steps that stay with a person. On a matter, the judgment steps are the ones with a signature or a client at the end.
Map the workflow below as a numbered list: step, who does it today, input, output, minutes. Then mark each step MECHANICAL (hand to a tool) or JUDGMENT (stays with a person), and say why in five words. WORKFLOW: [describe it].
2 · Your turn. You write the prompt
A first-pass document review on a new production takes you a day and a half every time and you could not say exactly why. Map it, step by step, and find the two steps that eat the time.
Write the prompt for this scenario as given, or swap in a real one from your own work. The score works the same either way.
Remember: the AI sees only your prompt, not this page. If the situation isn't in your prompt, it doesn't exist.
Optional. These shape the output when you run your prompt below, not your score.
